The first boat I visited for a day sail was Valinor, a brand new 2023 Bali recently brought to the BVI.
Navigare, a seasoned player in the bareboat charter industry, is now making a daring foray into the crewed charter yacht sector. This strategic shift presents a mix of opportunities and hurdles.
Coming from a large company and fleet allows Valinor to be very price competitive, offer a brand new boat, and provide collective resources from the more extensive fleet and mechanics in Nanny Cay Marina. However, crewed chartering is new and uncharted waters, and we are excited to see what the future holds for their new endeavor.
During the sail, crew members had calming and genuine personalities, and it was nice to see how the captain interacted with the kids onboard.
Seeing a captain “captain” and stay cool, collected, safe, and fun with the children, versus just touring the boat and explaining features, was a perfect setting to get to know the crew.
The water toys and execution of delivering everything the kids wanted were handled perfectly. Safety measures were discussed, and the kids had the best day ever.
The chef also showcased her craft up close and personal. The food was family-style, which offered a much more relaxed dining experience.
We ended the day with a sunset sail back to Nanny Cay, where our twilight happy hour on Indigo awaited.
