What is APA

What is APA? It stands for Advanced Provisioning Allowance. When you charter a yacht, expenses like fuel, food, beverages, dockage, port fees, and more are added on top of the charter fee. You may also need to pay VAT or other local taxes in some destinations.

APA covers these additional costs and usually ranges between 25% and 40% of the charter fee.  This depends on the location, your preferences, and the yacht type. The crew provides accounting updates throughout your trip.  Any leftover money can be used for gratuity or refunded to you.

In the Caribbean, many sailing catamarans offer a fully inclusive fee structure with crewed services.
