True Story Catamaran March 2024! New review!

“Overall, the trip was fantastic.  We were so impressed with the boat.  I thought it was beautifully maintained.  Not a single thing on it that felt old or worn.  Mitch and I were in the primary cabin, and it was lovely.  Very spacious.  The shower was fabulous—tremendous pressure and size.  We loved the beds, furnishings, everything.
I was impressed with the crew’s efficiency.  They picked up the boat and kept it clean seamlessly.  Hardly ever saw them actually doing it, yet it was always done.  Very professional.  Tamara was very friendly, bubbly, and very competent.  It was fantastic to watch her manage a bunch of different things.  Martin was a lot more serious but still very gracious, kind, and an excellent captain.  They were both very communicative and punctual when we asked to be picked up or dropped off somewhere.  They gave good advice on where to go and what to have.
The food was delicious.  I asked her for big portions and she took me seriously!  We all gained weight, haha, and we were never hungry or wanted for more.  We also loved the place settings and plating of the meals.  Very beautiful.  The alcohol and other drinks were plentiful and we had everything we asked for and needed.
I especially liked the balance of them helping us with fun drinks and snacks, and being able to help ourselves.  Made it so we didn’t feel obnoxious asking them constantly to take care of us.  They also helped me and set up my silly birthday stuff for Mitch was a fun treat to wake up to.
Our destinations were so fun.  The baths were basically empty when we went through and that was an absolute highlight.  We also had fun at Foxys with the crew!  We got them to come out with us for a bit.

CAPTAIN MARTIN

Martin, hailing from the slopes near Slovakia’s Tatra Mountains, has always craved adventure. His youthful days were filled with mountain biking, rafting, and climbing adventures. At 13, a trip to Croatia introduced him to sailing, sparking a lifelong passion. Venturing to the UK at 18, Martin embarked on a culinary journey across Europe, working in prestigious restaurants and relishing this career’s creativity and travel. However, the call of the sea was irresistible. Choosing sails over stoves, Martin shifted his course back to Croatia, embracing a yachting career that promised not just a season but a new way of life. Now a Captain, he finds joy in freedom, travel, and outdoor adventures, never straying too far from the grill when it’s time for steaks. Life at sea has never felt more like home.

CHEF TAMARA

Growing up in Sydney, Australia, Tamara discovered her love for combining food, travel, and gatherings from her adventures in her family’s circle. Weekends full of outdoor feasts and warm company ignited a passion in her that transcends into her role in yachting today. Before embracing the sea, Tamara acquired experience as an Occupational Therapist. Yet, the call for adventure was irresistible. After meeting Martin in Croatia, she embarked on a new journey, blending her love for culinary delights and exploring new destinations with yachting.

TOP CREW

Tamara and Martin’s journey started in Korcula, Croatia in 2018, bonding over a shared passion for travel, sailing, and discovering new cultures and cuisines. This connection led them to backpack across Asia for seven months, testing the strength of their relationship in the most adventurous way. Their love for the sea then took them to work on sailing yachts across the Mediterranean – Greece, Croatia, Italy, Turkey, Montenegro – before heading to the Caribbean. Here, in the idyllic settings of the British Virgin Islands, St Martin, and Antigua, their adventures continued. They consider their job – chartering yachts, exploring the ocean’s beauty, and hosting guests – the best job in the world.

With Tamara and Martin, every charter on True Story is crafted to balance sailing, exploring, and relaxation, tailoring each experience to what their guests seek. Their approach is all about creating a welcoming, safe, and personalized experience, with a special emphasis on the mesmerizing underwater world of the BVI.
