CAPTAIN PATRICK

Meet Captain Patric GUYAZ from Switzerland, a seasoned sailor and dive instructor whose passion has taken him around the globe. With a rich background as an RYA Yacht Master, Patric has navigated through Europe and the Caribbean and even ventured into offshore racing in Australia. His expertise extends underwater as a dive instructor, exploring world-renowned sites like the Great Barrier Reef, the Red Sea, and the vibrant waters of the Maldives and South Africa.
Patric dedicated three years to teaching sailing and diving to young enthusiasts in the BVI’s summer camp programs. His approachability, professionalism, and humor ensure everyone aboard Tranquility feels welcome, relaxed, and safe. Whether it’s fulfilling unique requests or mixing the perfect cocktail, Patric’s commitment to excellence is unmatched—except, of course, when acquiring an elephant.

CAPTAIN JARED

Jared, a Durban native, spent his early years amidst the beauty of coastlines, helping his dad renovate boats and houses. His quest for adventure led him to Sodwana Bay academy in 2015, where he earned his PADI dive instructor certification. Not long after, Jared landed a gig in the BVI at a commercial dive shop, diving deep into the treasures of the island’s waters. His dedication to the sea didn’t stop there; by 2018, he achieved his RYA Yacht Master certificate. Fast forward to 2019, Jared co-purchased a 51ft sailing Ketch, launching day charter trips that quickly became a hit in the BVI. Now, with two seasons under his belt as First Mate on Tranquility and stepping into the captain’s role in January 2024, Jared’s adventures on the Tranquility continue to unfold.

CHEF JESS

Enjoy a memorable meal experience with Chef Jess at the helm during your vacation. Passionate about crafting menus that cater to every dietary need, Jess ensures each dish is not only a delight to taste but also a feast for the eyes with her artistic presentation.

With a journey that began in 2015 on luxury yachts and armed with multiple chef and nutrition-specific qualifications, including an advanced course from Balleymaloe Cooking School in Ireland, Jess is ready to make your dining experience unforgettable.

CHEF MARY

Originally from the UK and a former film industry professional, Mary traded her camera for the kitchen. Her global travels, spanning Europe, Australia, Africa, India, the Caribbean, and the USA, allowed her to explore many world cuisines. Passionate about sharing these taste experiences, Mary prioritizes the quality of ingredients in her cooking while customizing menus to fit your and your family’s preferences. Also a certified Dive Master, Mary enjoys combining her love for cooking with the opportunity to explore the underwater world, schedule permitting. Her flexibility, warmth, and humorous approach ensure a comfortable and memorable stay for her guests.

STEWARDESS DIANE

Non-Rotational Role.

Born and raised in Northern Ireland, Diane has lived in diverse locations over the last 30 years. Her journey brought her to the BVI in 2015, initially for a week-long visit, which quickly turned into a permanent stay thanks to her love for the place. Working in the local industry ever since, her background on a farm instilled a strong work ethic in her, alongside a readiness to assist in any possible manner. Known for her generous drink servings, she’s always there to serve you a refreshing drink at any hour.

Off-duty, Diane’s adventures include lambing sheep across Canada, Scotland, England, or France and handling tractors during summers for enjoyment. She eagerly anticipates making your acquaintance aboard and discovering your coffee preferences.

Her passions extend to travelling, hiking, horse riding, yoga, and immersing herself in different cultures and culinary experiences. Feel free to strike up a conversation about tractor driving with her!

MATE/DIVE INSTRUCTOR JACK

Jack, First Mate/Dive Instructor on SY Tranquillity, brings a wealth of experience from the cold North of England. With a background in competitive rugby, hiking, and skateboarding, he has dedicated the last decade to mastering the seas and sharing his love for water. Whether above or below the surface, from coaching wakeboarding to guiding underwater adventures, Jack thrives. His journey spans from the deserts of the Middle East to the Arctic’s icy embrace, now anchored in the Caribbean’s charm for five years. Off-duty, Jack’s passion for discovery takes him cycling and backpacking, immersing in diverse cultures and landscapes.
