CAPTAIN DOYLE
Capt Doyle’s tale starts in the heart of Arizona, where his love for the outdoors took root. Moving from construction job to job, he stumbled upon a marina in Valdez, Alaska, sparking his passion for maritime life. Committing to this new direction at 19, he relocated to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, eager to wrangle a position on any boat. Through persistence, he climbed from an eager dockside kid to a seasoned captain, navigating everything from 65-foot catamarans to luxury yachts. His journey took him from the Virgin Islands to Hawaii, the Great Lakes, and the eastern US coast, leading tours for premium clients and on private yachts alike. However, Hurricane Irma and Maria’s devastation in 2007 forced a temporary return to Arizona ranch life—a testament to his adaptability and love for the outdoors. Yet the pull of the sea proved irresistible. In 2021, Doyle moved to St. Augustine, Florida, rekindling his maritime career. Now captaining REVERIE, he’s dedicated to sharing over twenty years of oceanic exploration with guests.
Doyle ensures an unparalleled island experience aboard Reverie Catamaran, from underwater adventures to breezy sailings and deckside serenades.
CHEF MAYA
Raised between the U.S., Japan, and Canada, Maya’s passion for the water led her through a life of adventure, from surfing in California to canoeing in Ontario. After earning her Japanese, Spanish, and biology degrees from the University of Toronto, her fascination with the food world took her on a global culinary quest. She started with organic farming in Spain and Portugal, then diversified her experience with stints at a French bistro in Baltimore, a natural wine bar, and even coffee roasting.
2020 saw her enhance her skills in Japan at a Michelin 2-star restaurant and a traditional noodle shop, paired with culinary training at Ballymore Cookery School in Ireland and the Ashburton Yacht Chef Academy. Traveling to over 30 countries enriched her culinary style, which is firmly rooted in sourcing sustainable, local produce and fostering relationships with producers. Her interests span foraging, fermenting, and pickling.
Recent ventures have taken her to the Republic of Georgia to explore ancient wine culture and to Slovenia for a harvest season at a natural winery. Adding to her diversified skills, she also achieved her PADI rescue diver certification in Honduras. Dedicated to continuous learning and accommodating every dietary need, Maya combines extensive gastronomic knowledge with a commitment to quality and diversity.
STEWARDESS/MATE TACARO
Tacaro’s journey began in Johannesburg, South Africa, where her love for horses and motorbikes led her to 10 years of showjumping. After studying BSc Mathematical Statistics, she sought adventure, leading her to volunteer with turtles in Madagascar. This ignited her passion for the ocean, prompting her to become a dive instructor in Durban and work in renowned shark diving spots and Mozambique. Travels took her to Greece, South Korea, and the Philippines to further her dive teaching.
In 2022, she ventured into yachting, completing courses that took her to work on a dive boat in Greece. Her ambition was set in the yachting industry, and Tacaro joined a yacht boot camp in the Dominican Republic in late 2023. Her journey led her to Fort Lauderdale, where she quickly gained experience and landed a role on a sailing yacht, traveling to the US Virgin Islands.
With skills in deckhand duties and stewardess responsibilities, Tacaro is ready to fulfill her maritime dreams, always with her signature smile and impressive cocktail-making skills.
