I grew up in New York City and my sailing career began when I was young helming my family’s Seafarer 31. At six years old I was handling dinghies. Her passion had her teaching sailing at Manhattan Sailing School and Hudson River Community Sailing, all while attending Hunter College and getting degrees in Psychology and Sociology.
In 2012, Charlotte headed to the British Virgin Islands to become a charter captain and sailing instructor. Since then, she has sailed as a captain on charters through Greece, Italy, Spain, France, Croatia, and many other countries and has steered through exotic waters in French Polynesia and Thailand. She has 19 years of sailing instruction, 25,000 offshore yacht miles delivered and holds both USCG and BVI Captain’s licenses, which she brings with great expertise and enthusiasm to every voyage.
When not at the helm, Charlotte enjoys island hopping, hiking, attending Caribbean regattas, having exciting dinner parties, diving and can sometimes be seen trying to balance on a surfboard. Her knowledge is deep, her spirit is adventurous and her commitment to guest satisfaction ensures that every journey on Nae Kae is incredible. 🚤🌊
Melissa, a Phoenix native with a lifelong wanderlust, swapped her sales job for a chef’s apron without looking back.
