Milla’s love for sailing began in Finland’s coastal waters, fostering a lifelong passion. Raised by sailors, she grew up exploring the seas with her father on their H-boat. Milla has dedicated herself to social work and helping people of all ages. She has never lost her bond with the sea. For the last four years, she has worked as a Captain in the Mediterranean.
A true outdoor enthusiast, Milla enjoys hiking and skiing and has trained as a wilderness guide. Her journey from Finnish shores to the Caribbean reflects her commitment to turning her love for sailing into a way of life. 🌊⛵
In 2015, Elif’s mother gifted her a sailing course to celebrate her Masters of Law degree. This gift ignited her love for sailing, a passion she pursued alongside her legal career. However, Elif’s heart also belonged to cooking, bringing joy to her loved ones through her meals.
After 12 years in law, Elif made a bold decision to follow her heart. Inspired by her friend Milla, the captain of Apricity, she mixed her love for sailing and cooking into a new job. She improved her skills at the Professional Culinary Course at USLA Academy, Topkapi University. After that, she worked at Soho House Istanbul until the summer of 2024. During this time, she gained more experience in Indian cuisine through collaborations.
This summer, Elif cooked on sailboats for family and friends. She also worked as a guest chef on different charter yachts. She loves blending Greek and Turkish flavors with a Mediterranean twist, using fresh, local ingredients. Her culinary journey continues as she embraces new recipes and ingredients sourced locally. 🌊🍽️
