A seasoned sailor with a lifelong passion for water sports, Captain Menke has been sailing since the tender age of 6. Growing up in the Netherlands, he dedicated most of his free time to sailing and eventually became a sailing instructor, sharing his love for the sport with others. At 16, Menke embarked on a transformative 6-month, 11,000-mile voyage with School at Sea, igniting his interest in ocean sailing.
Menke’s maritime journey continued as he worked on deck for 3 years aboard the 249ft 3-masted Clipper Stad Amsterdam while pursuing his Maritime Officer’s education at Enkhuizen Nautical College. After sailing around the world, he earned a Bachelor in Science & Innovation Management and a Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship, all while running charters in Croatia and Sardinia during the summers.
Now, Captain Menke eagerly returns to sailing in the BVI, combining his vast knowledge and passion for sailing with his enthusiasm for sharing the wonders of the blue world with guests aboard Andiamo.
Born and raised in the Netherlands, Chef Annick has been surrounded by water and sailing since childhood. Her passion for hospitality emerged at the age of 14 when she began working at a restaurant, where her positive energy and welcoming smile quickly became her trademark. Annick honed her skills at the International Hospitality School in the Netherlands, transforming her love for hospitality and culinary arts into a promising career.
During her studies, Annick pursued an internship at a luxury hotel in Cape Town. Unable to resist the call of the sea, she later combined her two passions and worked as a Hospitality Manager aboard the Stad Amsterdam, a 3-masted tall ship, sailing the world.
As the proud owner of a 27ft sailboat, Chef Annick finds immense joy in providing friends and family with five-star experiences, both on the water and through her culinary creations. Her favorite cuisine is Italian, and she is always eager to experiment with new dishes to delight her guests.
Together, Captain Menke and Chef Annick embody the spirit of adventure and hospitality, ready to create unforgettable memories for guests aboard Andiamo.
