“We are a passionate hard-working couple that work exceptionally well together. We love people and giving them the best experience in every possible way.”
Captain Chris and his partner Lida will guarantee you an exceptional week. Their top priority is to inspire and awaken guests' passion for the ocean and make it an unforgettable journey. As an outgoing, sociable couple they know how to create a friendly, accommodating homelike atmosphere.
Chris has a relaxed, positive and enthusiastic demeanour. He grew up on the the coast in South Africa surfing, kiting and hiking, living any nature lover’s dream. In 2012 he began his own boat detailing company, cleaning and maintaining yachts in the local marina. A sailing school noticed his interest and potential in yachts and offered him a job as a bosun. He worked for Ocean Sailing Academy for three years increasing his knowledge of sailing and yachts extensively. He then had the privilege of sailing the Wild Coast of Africa creating memories he will cherish forever before his first job in the Maldives with his partner Lida where he learnt the art of spearfishing and freediving.
Lida grew up in a small town in South Africa and worked in hospitality since the beginning of high school improving her skills in food preparation and the art of cocktail creation. Chris took Lida on her first sailing experience in Cape Town and she fell in love with it immediately and she knew this was going to be their dream to pursue a career on the water. They not only worked as crew on charter in the Maldives but they sailed all along the Maldivian atolls on an adventurous voyage to India and back. Having ventured across the Indian ocean and they had their sights on the Atlantic and Caribbean.
Lida is an accomplished chef and hostess and is delighted to treat her guests to all the relaxation and attention they deserve while she does what she does best.
After delivering their Saba 50 from Guadeloupe to the Virgin islands and completing a season there, they are looking forward to sharing these beautiful destinations and creating everlasting memories with you!
