CHAMPS ELYSEES
Captain: Michael Wilson
Chef/Frist Mate: Casey Strickland
Michael:
RYA Yachtmaster
STCW
Certified Divemaster
Yoga Instructor
Michael was born and raised in Texas and grew up loving the outdoors with his dad taking him on countless hiking, canoeing, and camping adventures. He graduated from University with a Masters in Accounting and Finance undergrad degree and then worked in Oil & Gas in Houston. After working in the corporate world for five years he decided to make a change and enjoy the outdoors through sailing as a career! He previously fell in love with sailing while in the BVIs and Southern Caribbean and then made the leap to working as skipper on sailing vacations in Croatia. He is excited to return to the Virgin Islands for another season of unforgettable charters. When away from sailing he is exploring new parts of the world, meeting new people, and eating as many new cuisines he can find. He is a Divemaster and can lead dives right from the back scoops of Champs Elysees. Michael also has his RYA 200hr Yoga Certification too so if you're up for a little yoga on charter, this is the vessel for you.
Casey:
STCW
Ashburton Chefs Academy Graduate
Certified Scuba Diver
Casey, born and raised in Florida, has always been happiest when on the water. She is a foodie through and through and her passion for food began at a young age always cooking and baking with her mom in the kitchen.
After specializing in hospitality and event management at the University of Florida, she worked at luxury, all-inclusive golf resorts before transitioning into residential real estate. After years of the work grind, she decided adventure was waiting for her. She left behind the “norm” in 2016 and caught the travel bug - bad! In the past four years, she has traveled to over 35 countries experiencing the kindness of strangers, new cultures and all things food!
She recently expanded her culinary training by studying at the renowned Ashburton Chefs Academy in the UK and has worked in both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean as a yacht chef. She loves creating flavorful, delicious meals that are not only fresh but healthy and beautiful.
Michael and Casey met while sailing in Adriatic Sea off the coast of Croatia and clicked as a sailing and cooking dynamic duo! They are excited to be back in the Caribbean for another season creating memories of a lifetime. They hope you will join them for an unforgettable trip among some of the most beautiful islands in the world!
Guests that are into photography will also enjoy the expertise of this dynamic crew. Not only do they love to create memorable experiences for their guests, they also enjoy using their drone, GoPro, photography and video editing skills to creatively share their guest’s unique vacation moments.
