Virgin Islands Yacht Charters from Stephanie. After attending the Virgin Islands Yacht Shows this year, I had a few yachts that stood out for me that I wanted to share with you.
These yachts all tended to have a friendly crew and presented well.
I consider myself a “foodie” and can’t stop myself from sampling every morsel of food they put out or every cocktail or designer water that appears in front of me either. Several of these offer an excellent SCUBA package, which is one of my favorite charter activities!
Virgin Islands Yacht Charters activities
Eight of my favorite things to do while on a yacht charter in the Virgin Islands!
- Gumption’s Tour of Necker Island. The British Virgin Islands. I have done this twice now, and it never fails to disappoint. My husband (Levi Lowrey) often does yacht charters with his fan base, and this is an activity everyone wants to do!
- Anegada Beach Club. The British Virgin Islands. Going back to my own experience again, one night, we had a fabulous meal there and then took our group and had a private concert on the beach with no one around!
- SCUBA diving and Snorkeling! No matter where we anchor, I want to get in the water! I LOVE diving the wreck of the RMS Rhone off Salt Island. Marine Life amuses me for hours.
- The Straw Market on Charlotte Amalie in the US Virgin Islands. Whether it is before or after a charter, I can spend an hour wandering around looking at the goods for sale, picking up a hot sauce for my husband, or small gifts for the children.
- Our Market Smoothies on St John in the US Virgin Islands, with Thomas. I have called them the best smoothies on the planet, and I am not kidding!
- Hanging out in the water or on the yacht having a good time with friends and family Simply being present.
- Visiting Conch Mountain on Anegada in the British Virgin Islands. Kelly’s Land Tours offers a tour from the principal anchorage of Anegada
- Bonfire on the Beach. We have made our own on deserted islands many times, usually accompanied by music and good cheer. Watching the stores from a dark island with only a bonfire for light is a fantastic experience. Try it out
My Five Favorite Virgin Islands Yacht Charters from the November 2019 Boat Show
In no particular order, take a look at my favorites. The prices I am giving you below are for seven nights fully crewed and inclusive charters with a range of prices depending on the number of guests. It is fully inclusive of all food, meals, snacks, standard ship’s bar, beverages, crew, yacht, toys onboard. Extras are always the crew gratuity industry standard at 15-20% adjusted up or down, depending on how you feel the service was. Sometimes SCUBA diving. Top Shelf alcohol not included in the standard ship’s bar, as well as anything you chose to eat or drink onshore. All prices are in US Dollars.
There are different types of Half Board charters and more that are available additionally. These are some high-end large catamarans as well to snap up for the next holiday season before they disappear!
All the below yachts have an extensive list of toys and amenities onboard with a crew that goes the extra mile to make your vacation the best it can be.
John is from South Africa, and Shirelle is from Israel. One look at the infectious smile on Shirelle’s face, you will immediately feel like you are at home. Not to mention that her food is to die for, being very creative. They offer all the usual toys, in addition to Noodles, Inflatable unicorns, mermaid tails, and a few onboard surprises! Take advantage of the 3 SCUBA dives included for certified divers.
“John and Shirelle were wonderful hosts too. They were warm, kind, professional, and friendly. They were attentive without being intrusive, a perfect balance. We enjoyed their company very much. We were greeted with champagne and a Congratulations banner and streamers for the girls. They took all of our pre-charter preferences to heart, even found good wine and coffee for us. Everything was perfect. They had plenty of energy to keep up with our active family, too, including during what seemed to be the world’s longest tube ride (much to our daughter’s’ delight). They took us to beautiful spots for snorkeling and hiking. Our girls also bonded instantly with Shirelle. John was thoughtful and even made an extra unplanned stop when I mentioned we had been at Foxy’s years ago, and I wanted to see it again. He was an excellent captain, and Shirelle was a great first mate and chef.
Cuisine on Serenity Now Catamaran
Regarding the food, Shirelle’s cooking was truly incredible. Before this trip, I prepared myself that the food would be adequate, but we were blown away by the quality of every meal, snack, and drink made lovingly by Shirelle (and John’s grilling skills were top-notch). Shirelle even baked our family’s favorite cake to celebrate the girls’ graduations and served birthday pancakes, a family tradition that I briefly mentioned during our pre-charter call.
Serenity Now Catamaran was indeed a vacation of a lifetime, and we wouldn’t have changed a thing.”

Jacek is originally Polish, and I believe Maya has Lebanese, but they are both US citizens, with a few additional languages they can communicate in! Maya is truly a wizard in the galley, always exploring new ways of putting ingredients together. Her charcuterie boards are industry known! A few notes on the yacht: Look for plenty of blow-up animals to hang out in the water with a top flybridge seating area with a 360-degree view. Sta Ana sports a hydraulic swim platform that lowers in the water for easy access.
“Our trip has been fantastic. Our Captain Jacek and Chef Maya could not have made our trip more pleasurable. Great attention to detail and very accommodating in every respect. We chose to go with a pescatarian diet for this trip, and Maya prepared fabulous and imaginative meals day after day. I only wish we could somehow replicate once we return home. The catamaran was very clean and comfortable.”

Stefan is from Germany and Chloe, the United Kingdom. I loved this crew when they came on the scene in 2018, and I love them just as much this year. They are the whole package!
“Chloe and Stefan have a profound love of the ocean and sailing, which they enjoy sharing with guests. Their warm, upbeat personalities, exceptional hospitality, and joie de vivre is all part of what will make your vacation unforgettably beautiful!
Relaxing in nature, yoga, and watersports are what Stefan and Chloe offer.
Unwind in a stunningly beautiful, carefree environment, leaving your ‘every day’ behind you; sit back and soak up the sun with a Caribbean breeze in your hair; experience diving, free-diving, surfing, wake-boarding snorkeling, and hiking – as well as other fun activities, such as scavenger hunts, murder mystery-themed dinners, etc.
Chloe & Stefan share time and space with guests and enjoy being personable, making you feel comfortable and at home on your sailing vacation. Playing guitar and stargazing over a nice glass of wine and good conversation is part of what they provide to create a beautiful holiday atmosphere and memories which last a lifetime. Aboard Altesse, most guests arrive as clients but leave as friends.”
Dominic and Hannah are both from South Africa. The yacht is new and pristine. The crew provides a very high-end and gourmet cuisine, yacht charter experience on their Virgin Islands Charter Yacht. Pamper yourself to the nines on Mucho Gusto. I love the upfront cabin on these high-end yachts with the perfect view from your bed, and that makes Mucho Gusto ideal for honeymoon couples.

Max and Whitey are experienced, and familiar charter yacht crew faces in the Caribbean. Their crew profile probably says it better than I can: “Max and Whitey (Maxine and John White) are entering their second season on Nutmeg but have over 20 years in the crewed yacht charter industry. Whitey is originally from Perth, Australia, and Max from the mountainous state of Utah, but they have made the Caribbean their home.
Max and Whitey met sailing on San Francisco Bay. They went sailing and then dropped their anchor in Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands. On Tortola they were married and then began their chartering career.
They have hosted guests on large catamarans in the Virgin Islands, down the island chain, and even a few years of ‘adventure chartering’ in the San Blas Islands of Panama and Belize. The most recent years have been on a private powerboat exploring the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba, and Belize.”
