Tell me about the yacht Delphine?
“Delphine is fully air-conditioned and can accommodate 6 guests in three large suites, with en-suite separate showers/electric heads. In the salon, TV entertainment from a 40 flat screen is ideal for a relaxed evening or relax to music of your choice.
The catamaran is a fabulous choice for comfortable, spacious sailing with family or friends.”
Delphine is not the newest yacht, but it is kept up appropriately, is comfortable and offers a great price point for yacht charters in the Bahamas with two long term crew members who know the area exceptionally well.
Tell me about the crew on Delphine Bahamas Sailing Catamaran?
“Brad Wardle fell in love with sailing when he was seven years old and started taking his first sailing lessons in Ventura, California. He bought his first boat when he was in his 20’s and sailed it for 22 years up and down the West Coast from Canada to Mexico and to Hawaii single-handed.
A natural mechanic, Brad’s enjoyed a long career as an engineer working on ski lifts in the California ski resorts, and as an oil rig technician working on the land and offshore. His work gave him time off between posts which Brad always spent on his boat, sailing.
First Mate/Chef Shana Story was born and raised in Michigan, where she fell in love with boating on the Great Lakes. She has a BS in Education and worked as a health teacher before moving to Montana to become the kitchen manager at Mountain Sky Guest Ranch, owned by Arthur Blank, owner of the Atlanta Falcons and Home Depot. Shana’s natural hospitality skills and bubbly personality were the perfect match for the clientele of that exclusive resort, and she soon branched into private catering.
Tell me more about where the crew met?
The crew met each other in Angel Fire, New Mexico, where Shana had taken the position as the chef/housekeeper on a private ranch, and Brad was working on a nearby oil rig. Brad invited Shana to come sailing on his boat in California, and soon after, the idea to combine their talents and become sailing crew together was born.
Shana and Brad traveled to Mystic, Connecticut, to purchase a 40′ Cheoy Lee and gave themselves two years to cruise the Caribbean. In those two years, they sailed their yacht “Quartette” from Connecticut to Florida, through the Bahamas and to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and finally to St, Thomas. Brad and Shana have four grown children between them and love to host families aboard Delphine.”
They believe that Delphine is ideally suited for family groups to enjoy a Caribbean sailing vacation that will be the most memorable time of their lives.
Tell me about the cuisine on Delphine Catamaran?
Each menu is personalized for your particular charter group! I have a sample menu here, and showing is always better than telling. Shana prefers to prepare healthy cuisine featuring fresh, local ingredients and can tailor her menu to accommodate diets such as gluten-free, paleo, and vegetarian.
H2O Brokers were lucky enough to be invited onboard for a luncheon during the Bahamas Charter Show! With their Valentine’s themed meal and decorations along with the giggling conversations we had with the crew, I think we spent almost three hours onboard instead of the hour and a half allotted to us!
- Strawberry and Chevre Salad with toasted Sugar Almonds
- Steak Oscar with Lump Crab
- Gruyere Potatoes au gratin
- Roasted Asparagus with Bearnaise Sause
- Molten Chocolate Lave Cake
Yes, IT WAS AS GOOD AS IT SOUNDS!

What is the best time to sail in the Bahamas?
The water temperature is the warmest between late April and early December, getting up to 85 degrees in the peak of the summer months. At the other end, the water temperature can go down to 72 degrees in mid-January to mid-March.
The wind in the Bahamas tends to be the strongest between mid to late December to the end of March. My favorite time is April through July, as the winds are lighter, the seas are warmer. Many yachts heading from the Caribbean up to the North East will stop here in the summer to allow for a couple of charters. Some are based out of the Bahamas in summer.
Delphine Catamaran closes between Mid-June and the Mid-November for maintenance and crew holidays.
